(Large Car Park at the Rear)

We are a family friendly Inn with a small garden for the children to play in and a skittle alley and pool table for the adults to enjoy.

The Inn also offers a large restaurant, hotel accommodation, darts, quiz nights, a function room and has disabled access.

We also offer an outside bar service for all functions and occasions. Allow us to provide the license, the drink and the trained staff.

Situated in the Heart of the Cotswolds
The Malt House Bar, Hotel and Restaurant is located in the heart of the Cotswold Hills in the sleepy town of Berkeley. Berkeley has a wealth of history dating back to the Roman times with several battles being fought nearby. More recent are the recorded events of the barbaric torture and slaying of Edward II at Berkeley Castle in 1327 whose cries of agony, it is said, were heard as far away as the town's centre.
Local History
On a more favourable note, however, is the courage of George Thorpe who led a party of pilgrims to the New World. To this day, as far away as Virginia, U.S.A, it is believed that this party held the first American Thanksgiving Day at the Berkeley Plantation there in December 1619. About a year before the Pilgrim Fathers made their journey aboard the Mayflower.

The Restaurant & Bar

(Children Welcome)

The restaurant is on two levels, and with soft lighting, oak beams and wood panelling. Although the restaurant is quite large its clever seating plan allows dinners a certain intimacy, this means it is always popular and it is advisable to book well ahead, especially at weekends
Menus at the Malt House are extensive including the Chef's Specialities and a vegetarian section. There are specials to choose from which are up dated on a daily basis.

Large parties can be catered for by arrangement, the restaurant can seat nearly sixty. Click here for a sample of the menu.

The bar stocks an excellent selection of wines and spirits, real ales, lagers and the usual mix of stouts and ciders to choose from. There is also a wide selection of bottled beers and alcopops.
